Hot Almond Apple Pie Punch

Looking for a hot drink with some booze to warm you up on a dark and rainy autumn day? A cup of Hot Apple Pie Punch is a perfect add-on for a lazy afternoon on your couch. Basically, granny’s apple pie in a cup and with an extra kick! If you don’t feel like drinking alcohol or have kids joining in, the alcohol-free version is equally heart-warming. Don’t have a fire place? A TV and a YouTube video will do (see below)…

Hot Almond Apple Pie Punch

Hot Apple Pie Punch

Ingredients for 4 cups:

  • 500ml apple cider
  • 250ml apple juice
  • 150ml Amaretto
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 200ml double cream
  • 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 2 tbsp flaked almonds
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Method:

  1. In a saucepan, warm up the apple cider, apple juice and amaretto with the cinnamon stick for five minutes. Avoid boiling, unless you want less alcohol in your drink.
  2. Toast the almond flakes in a pan, until golden brown.
  3. Whisk the double cream with the vanilla sugar to reach soft peak stage – it should be creamy, but not stiff.
  4. Fill the hot drink into glass mugs, top with a big spoon of cream and sprinkle over some cinnamon and almond flakes.
